![]() ![]() Sharing of this LUT for $15 is a bargain, however, at the very least Paul should refund the $15 Dusty paid. There has been an incredible amount of sharing in this thread, and it is so obvious the amount of work done and not kept for personal use. Please just ignore this thread, you don't need to tell others how to respond to it.īut, for sure, i would appreciate it, if he would document and share the few technical ingredients of this LUT with us in a more collegial manner, to use and improve it together in a more forum adequate way.Incredibly misinformed post. He's been actively working on a solution while I've been doing other stuff. Hell, technically Paul hijacked my thread. I was going to do the same.may still if his doesn't pan out.but if it does, then that will have saved me at a minimum a week of work, maybe more. Knowing how much work goes into creating an *ACCURATE* LUT (any idiot can make a goofy film look) I am very appreciative of the work Paul has done. To suggest stealing someone else's property is, well, so much worse than a little self-promotion. Any professional shooter is an intellectual property creator. We won't miss you!īut, for sure, i would appreciate it, if he would document and share the few technical ingredients of this LUT with us in a more collegial manner, to use and improve it together in a more forum adequate wow. Who the hell are you to come in here and spout crap behind a veil of anonymity, and think you can call a spade a f$%king shovel? That's me in my avatar, in a former life. My name is on the LUT because I stand behind what I say. My credentials are out there for all to see. Give your work away for free.īut don't come into someone else's house and **** on the carpet, and tell me I should appreciate it. Build your own if it makes you feel better. So to you I say - follow your own advice. But I think there is some value in what I took a week to create. It wouldn't have mattered if I didn't sell a single copy. I made this LUT for ME first of all, to get the best possible images out of this fantastic little camera. A McDonald's meal is probably more expensive (at least here in Europe it definitely is)! I have no interest in gouging anyone. Then there's the week of in-depth testing (my cinematographer day rate is US$500 a day, which is cheap itself considering) at all hours of the day, countless iterations to get the colour science perfect, a bunch of additional work last night to get it perfect, and you have the gall to advocate ripping it off? I'm the one who first raised the issue of magenta cyan colour splotching, and of the undocumented bug in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 with 10 bit 4:2:2 footage behaving like 8 bit footage (with a bug report subsequently filed with Adobe). You want to talk about sharing information? Go read the Exposing for V-Log L thread. ![]() I started the idea of building this LUT in response to the image quality issues plaguing V-Log L on the GH4. Go and visit my website and see who I am. Perhaps you should pay a bit of attention to things like my joining date of this forum. No one is forcing you to be in this thread, so why dump all over what is essentially a far cheaper way for people to get the same quality as V-Log L, created by a working cinematographer? If paul leeming would really understand and respect the nature of information exchange in public forums, he would simple share his insights in a more consequent way.īut, for sure, i would appreciate it, if he would document and share the few technical ingredients of this LUT with us in a more collegial manner, to use and improve it together in a more forum adequate way.Sorry, but I'm going to call you out on this, big time.įirst of all, advocating piracy is not cool, especially in the thread of the person whose product you are advocating they pirate. So i think, we should really ignore this LUT from paul - not even discous it - maybe copping it under a differned name and share it for freeīut, for sure, i would appreciate it, if he would document and share the few technical ingredients of this LUT with us in a more collegial manner, to use and improve it together in a more forum adequate way. but it doesn't get better, if we get used to this kind of stupid business making and just try to participate in it as good as we can. It's a pity, that panasonic opened pandoras box by selling this stupid upgrade for the first time. It doesn't make so much difference if you describe a solution to problem by words or put it into technical form like this LUTs.īut there is big difference between sharing information within a community and just doing public relation work to sell a product. We are all giving our opinions, that's why forums exist.if paul leeming would really understand and respect the nature of information exchange in public forums, he would simple share his insights in a more consequent way. ![]()
